The Department of Performing Arts staged its new production, \u201cOpen Couple,\u201d as part of the Senior Project II. Directed by guest director Geoffrey Hyland, Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, the play will be performed at the Bilkent Theater Hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional performances are scheduled for April 16, 24<\/strong> and 30,<\/strong> and May 7<\/strong> at 8 p.m. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performed in Turkish with English subtitles, \u201cOpen Couple\u201d is an adaptation of Dario Fo and Franca Rame\u2019s \u201cOpen Family.\u201d A comic, fast-paced theatrical encounter, the play explores intimacy, power and the shifting dynamics of a contemporary relationship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The production is translated by Bark\u0131n Kenan and co-directed by assistant director Damla K\u00f6se. It features Department of Performing Arts students \u0130rem Naz Alo\u011flu, Elif Ekizo\u011flu and Burak Topta\u015f. Soner To\u011fan serves as technical director, with Ak\u0131n \u00c7al\u0131\u015fkan as technical assistant and Eyl\u00fcl G\u00f6kdemir, Kayra Topal, Asya Akipek and Ceren Ekinci as the technical team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance is 75 minutes with no intermission, recommended for ages 13 and above.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
