A memorial ceremony was held for Dr. Talat \u015eenocak, one of the most beloved members of the Department of Economics and an alumnus (MATH BS \u201906, ECON MA \u201909, PhD \u201925), whom we lost on March 1, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Family, friends and members of the Bilkent community gathered on Wednesday, April 7, at the C-Block Auditorium to honor his memory. Rector K\u00fcr\u015fat Aydo\u011fan, Prof. Refet S. G\u00fcrkaynak, dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, and Assoc. Prof. Kemal Y\u0131ld\u0131z, chair of the Department of Economics, along with friends, colleagues and students, shared memories and offered their condolences during the memorial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All expressed their deep sorrow and paid tribute to Dr. \u015eenocak as a warm, understanding, helpful, friendly, respectful and kind teacher and researcher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
