Nehir \u00dcst\u00fcnda\u011f (COMD \u201926), now a master\u2019s student in the Media and Visual Studies program, won the Best Experimental Film award in the National Student Films Competition for \u201cEverything I Saw Before I Returned to Your Side\u201d (Yan\u0131na D\u00f6nmeden \u00d6nce G\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm Her \u015eey), which she wrote, directed, shot and co-edited. The film follows a dying mind as it dreams for the last time, the dream losing its shape as the mind decays. \u00dcst\u00fcnda\u011f developed and processed the color and black-and-white Super 8 film herself, drawing on her work with celluloid at the Bilkent Media Archaeology Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The short film \u201cUslu\u201d won the Special Jury Prize. Its sound design and Stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos mixes were completed at the COMD Creators Studio by faculty member Ufuk \u00d6nen and students R\u00fczgar Ula\u015f Tecelli, \u00d6yk\u00fc Oktay and Eren Kaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bilkent alumna P\u0131nar Yorganc\u0131o\u011flu (COMD \u201910)\u2019s debut feature, \u201cKaranl\u0131kta Isl\u0131k \u00c7alanlar\u201d (Whistlers in the Dark), won Best Screenplay\u2014which she co-wrote with Emre G\u00fclcan\u2014and Best Music, for Alican \u00c7amc\u0131\u2019s score, in the National Feature Film Competition.
