The Standby Team is composed of world-leading mediation experts and scholars who can be deployed to provide advice to the UN on a wide range of issues that arise in mediation and preventive diplomacy efforts. These issues include the design and management of dialogue processes, constitution-making, gender and inclusion issues, natural resources, power-sharing and security arrangements. Several experts are selected to join the team through a competitive process, and they rotate every year. Dr. \u00c7uhadar will serve in this capacity throughout 2023 as the first expert appointed to this position from Turkey. Dr. \u00c7uhadar will assist the UN especially in mediation and dialogue process design and as an inclusion expert.
