{"id":4486,"date":"2023-04-25T11:39:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T08:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bilkentnews.bilkent.edu.tr\/?p=4486"},"modified":"2023-04-25T11:49:36","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T08:49:36","slug":"bilkent-students-together-with-children-in-hatay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bilkentnews.bilkent.edu.tr\/?p=4486","title":{"rendered":"Bilkent Students Together with Children in Hatay"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bilkent students Yaren Kal\u0131n (IAED\/I), Tuba Alkan (IAED\/I), G\u00fcl Deniz Uludo\u011fan (IAED\/I), Zeynep Eda Ayd\u0131n (COMD\/I) and Feyza Demir (IAED\/I) went to Hatay for three days between April 12\u201315, after midterm exams, to facilitate activities for children living in the tent city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They organized many activities in the psychosocial support and technology tents, such as face painting, bookmarking, hand printing, letter writing and bubble blowing as well as theater games and other activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eda Ayd\u0131n said, \u201cWe brought a lot of painting materials. However, when the children drew pictures, they always drew debris, so we couldn\u2019t have them do many of these activities because the traumas are still continuing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuba Alkan, who in February was active in search and rescue operations in the earthquake zone, commented, \u201cThat place needs people more than it needs material aid. It is very important to entertain the children and chat with them; they loved having us there because they feel lonely.
