A team of students from Bilkent University, Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University and Ko\u00e7 University has won one of the four top awards at the Teknofest Agriculture Technologies Competition, where they competed against 5,283 other projects. The team, named Agricure, created the project \u201cApplication of Blockchain Technology in the Food Supply Chain,\u201d which aims to increase transparency and reliability in the food supply chain using blockchain technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Led by team captain Yavuz B\u00fclent Yurduseven, a freshman in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University, and his teammates Agah Emre \u00c7elebi from Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University and Mahir Tilkicio\u011flu from Ko\u00e7 University, Agricure\u2019s innovative solution allows consumers to trace their food products from the field to the table. The system provides access to crucial data, such as the age of the tree from which the fruit is harvested and the pesticides used during cultivation. The project’s primary goal is to prevent fraud, stabilize prices and generate datasets for future agricultural research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to their top five placement, Agricure also received the Best Presentation Award at the competition. The project has garnered significant interest from investors and industry professionals.
