This year\u2019s GE100 Orientation, a course designed to welcome incoming students and acclimatize them to the university\u2019s academic and social environment, took place September 8\u201312.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides introducing students to a new, intellectually stimulating academic environment, GE100 offers activities and opportunities designed to contribute to students\u2019 personal development and enable them to become active members of their new community.<\/p>\n\n\n

During the five-day orientation, students collected points to receive credit for completing the course by attending seminars, a classical music concert, an open-air movie night, department introductions and sports activities. The program helped new Bilkenters become acquainted with the university, its academic options and its other resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students also explored the campus, including the dormitories, classrooms, studios, laboratories, sports centers and other indoor and outdoor facilities. They were introduced to the library, a venue for many social and cultural activities as well as a center for study and research. In addition, they had the opportunity to join any of the university\u2019s numerous student clubs and societies.
