PhilFest\u201923, Turkey\u2019s first large-scale philosophy festival, will take place at the Spring Festival area on Saturday, September 23. The event is organized by the Department of Philosophy, Bilkent Philosophical Society, Bilkent University Library and the Psychological Counseling and Development Center.
There will be presentation tables by scientific and philosophical associations and societies from different cities, such as the Society for Women in Philosophy in Turkey, Turkish Kant Society, Evrim A\u011fac\u0131, Turkish Philosophy Foundation and Philosophy Art Science Association. There will also be book sales (with discounts) by many publishers in Turkey, including Do\u011fu Bat\u0131, \u0130leti\u015fim, Yap\u0131 Kredi, \u0130\u015f Bankas\u0131 K\u00fclt\u00fcr and \u0130mge. Throughout the festival, attendees can visit the exhibition area where philosophical visual works will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program will start at 12 p.m. with Rector K\u00fcr\u015fat Aydo\u011fan\u2019s opening speech, followed by interviews and presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
12:30 p.m. Thinking Philosophy as a Woman (Fulden \u0130brahimhakk\u0131o\u011flu and Toros G\u00fcne\u015f Esg\u00fcn)
1:30 p.m. Video Games and the Ethics of the Digital World (Erhan Demircio\u011flu)
2:30 p.m. Philosophical Wanderlust: Non-Western Philosophies (Pelin Dilara \u00c7olak)
3:30 p.m. Bilkent Philosophy Student Acitivities
4 p.m. God as the Source of Morality (Enis Doko and Tufan K\u0131ymaz)
5 p.m. Social and Political Epistemology in the Information Age (\u00d6mer Ayg\u00fcn and Yurdag\u00fcl K\u0131l\u0131n\u00e7)
At 6 p.m. there will be competitions on critical thinking and philosophical trivia and at 7 p.m. a movie screening (\u201cMegamind\u201d \u2013 Turkish subtitles).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
