The \u00dcNAK (University and Research Librarians\u2019 Association) 2023 symposium took place in person (as well as online) at Ayd\u0131n Adnan Menderes University on September 28\u201329. The theme of this year\u2019s symposium was \u201cThe Future of Libraries in the New Century.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Ebru Kaya, library director, demonstrated her expertise by serving as moderator, while librarians Cem \u00c7a\u011fatay Akg\u00fcn and Elif \u00d6ztop delivered an insightful presentation, \u201cDigitalization Efforts: The H\u00fcseyin C\u00f6nt\u00fcrk Collection Example.\u201d This contribution showcased Bilkent library\u2019s dedication to advancing digitalization within the field of library and information science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the symposium, there were discussions on the ideas, experiences and strategies related to the development of libraries and information centers in our country during the second century of the republic. Additional discussions revolved around future preparations for library professionals, advancements in library services, concepts of equity, access and sustainability as well as the utilization of technology and innovations in libraries.
