A ceremony took place at Mithat \u00c7oruh Auditorium afterwards. It began with a moment of silence and the national anthem, followed by a mini concert performed by the Bilkent Youth Trio. Next, students Nazl\u0131 \u0130rem Birinci (MAN), Yunus Emre Ekiz (EE), Ahmet Furkan K\u0131z\u0131l (CS), G\u00f6rkem Salman (EE) and \u0130ris Yaz\u0131c\u0131 (EE) presented their HIST200 project, \u201cAhmet Andi\u00e7en, as a Republican Intellectual and Entrepreneur, and Atat\u00fcrk.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n

Following this, Assoc. Prof. Tolga B\u00f6l\u00fckba\u015f\u0131, Chair of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, gave a presentation titled \u201cFrom the Year of Atat\u00fcrk to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Atat\u00fcrk.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his presentation, Dr. B\u00f6l\u00fckba\u015f\u0131 focused on the decision-making process behind the UNESCO Resolution marking the centenary of Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s birth in 1981. The Resolution gave way to a series of events commemorating Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s life, his \u2018exceptional\u2019 reforms in the areas of education, science and culture, and his outstanding contribution to \u2018international understanding, cooperation and peace.\u2019 Dr. B\u00f6l\u00fckba\u015f\u0131 illustrated how the founder of Modern T\u00fcrkiye set an example for leaders fighting against colonialism and imperialism even decades after his passing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On November 11, the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Can Okan with Lucas & Arthur Jussen on piano, presented a concert in memory of Atat\u00fcrk.
