The Faculty of Humanities and Letters and the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture organized the event \u201cPigments, Colors and Ideas,\u201d which took place on November 23\u201324, for the occasion of the 100th year of the Turkish Republic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Opening Reception at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations started with the welcome speeches by Prof. Dominique Kassab Tezg\u00f6r, chair of the Department of Archaeology; Prof. Yasemin Afacan, acting dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture and Yusuf K\u0131ra\u00e7, director of the Museum. They were followed by Rector K\u00fcr\u015fat Aydo\u011fan\u2019s speech.The inaugural lecture of the Symposium was given by Prof. Filiz Yeni\u015fehirlio\u011flu (VEKAM, Ko\u00e7 University) with the title Color: The Perception of an Image. Afterwards, the opening of the exhibition Sinopia Contemporary Art, coordinated by Ekin K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7 Ezer of the Department of Graphic Design took place. Faculty members of FADA together with well-known national artists presented artworks experimenting with the sinopia pigment used in antiquity and still extracted today in Cappadocia. M\u00fcge Meng\u00fc Hale of the Department of Communication and Design, did the media coordination for the program, which was attended by around 250 people. Pigments, colors and ideas were explored in the international symposium the next day on campus with papers presented by leading scholars from around the world.
