On December 5, the Department of International Relations hosted a book talk as a part of the series of events organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. During the event, a book coedited by Prof. Binnur \u00d6zke\u00e7eci-Taner and Prof. Sinem Akg\u00fcl A\u00e7\u0131kme\u015fe, \u201cOne Hundred Years of Turkish Foreign Policy (1923\u20132023): Historical and Theoretical Reflections,\u201d was launched. This book stands out as a work written by an all-women (13) panel of scholars. While presenting a summary of the evolution of Turkish foreign policy in the last century, the book also offers an in-depth analysis on Turkey\u2019s foreign policy vis-\u00e0-vis global actors and different regions of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Irmak K\u0131z\u0131lkaya, Department of International Relations student, suggested that the event \u201cwas really fascinating, and it was a big chance to meet the women professors I admire.\u201d Melike Metinta\u015f, a PhD student in the same Department, said that seeing an all-women panel of researchers at the height of their careers accomplishing these tasks was an extra motivation for women students in their careers. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
