There was also a live performance of sculptor Do\u011fan Karak\u0131l\u0131\u00e7\u2019s artwork with scrap musical materials. A ceremony was held for students who participated in the zero-waste logo competition in which Beyza Mira G\u00fcngen and Osman Arif Sabah shared first place.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/bilkentnews.bilkent.edu.tr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1.Osman-Arif-Sabah.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6696\" width=\"277\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bilkentnews.bilkent.edu.tr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1.Osman-Arif-Sabah.jpg 593w, https:\/\/bilkentnews.bilkent.edu.tr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1.Osman-Arif-Sabah-300x190.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 277px) 100vw, 277px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In his opening speech, Rector K\u00fcr\u015fat Aydo\u011fan stated, \u201cSustainable development is critical to leaving a clean T\u00fcrkiye and a livable world for future generations. In this context, we are the first Ankara university to receive the Ministry&#8217;s Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate. As you know, we have established many points on campus to separate waste at source. At these points, we collect waste paper and plastics, end-of-life batteries, lamps, electrical appliances and similar materials. With zero waste principles, we strive to avoid waste; reduce, reuse and recycle waste; and move towards a better world together. A cleaner and greener environment is our common wish.
