On October 4, the Modern Turkish Architecture Illustrated (\u00c7izgilerle Modern T\u00fcrkiye Mimarl\u0131\u011f\u0131) graphic novel and animated film series was awarded the Press Prize by the Turkish Association of Architects in Private Practice (T\u00fcrkSMD) as part of the 16th Architecture Awards. The works, coauthored by Cem Dedekarg\u0131no\u011flu, instructor in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, consist of four books and films depicting the key figures and buildings of the first hundred years of the Turkish Republic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was created by a team that includes coauthors\/researchers Assoc. Prof. Umut \u015eumnu and Onur Kutluo\u011flu and illustrators Ahmet Aslan, Bahad\u0131r Yaz\u0131c\u0131 and Kayahan Kaya. It was realized through the partnership of Arkitera and VitrA. <\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe Phantom of the Opera House\u201d (Opera\u2019n\u0131n Hayaleti) and \u201cThe Staircases of Ankara Palas\u201d (Ankara Palas\u2019\u0131n Merdivenleri), the first two books of the project, were published by Karakarga Press in 2023 and 2024. The following books, \u201cThe Key of the Floating Kiosk\u201d (Y\u00fczen K\u00f6\u015fk\u2019\u00fcn Anahtar\u0131) and \u201cThere is a Serpent in Sultanahmet\u201d (Sultanahmet\u2019te Var Bir Y\u0131lan) will be published by the end of 2024. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
