What were your first impressions about T\u00fcrkiye?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I came here in 2016 when I was about 11. It was scary coming here at that age, not knowing the language or anyone. It was difficult to adapt.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you like best about Bilkent and T\u00fcrkiye?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Turkey, I like the nature and hospitality. For Bilkent, I like the social life and the campus.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are there any similarities between T\u00fcrkiye and your home country? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a lot of similarities. For starters, the languages. There are a lot of similar words in Turkish and Arabic. The people are very welcoming, nice and hospitable. The cultural traditions are similar as well.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will you miss most about Bilkent\/T\u00fcrkiye? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people that I\u2019ve met here. Those friendships are very valuable and memorable for me as they\u2019ve helped me become the person I am today.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite place on campus, and why? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The library quiet area and Bilka hill\u2014I like the view up there because you can see the city.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite Turkish food and why?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like kebab, mant\u0131, k\u0131s\u0131r and \u00e7i\u011fk\u00f6fte. All of them have a unique taste.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully having a successful career in the tourism industry. I want to be travelling and living a comfortable life with my own family.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s one thing you learned from Turkish culture?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The way they treat their guests in their homes. They give them cologne and constantly pamper them with tea.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What places have you visited in T\u00fcrkiye, and which one is your favorite? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is going to take a while. Ok, \u0130stanbul, Cappadocia, Eski\u015fehir, Antalya, Bodrum, Marmaris and Bursa. That\u2019s it. My favorite is a small municipality in Antalya called Kalkan.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent\/in T\u00fcrkiye? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou aren\u2019t Turkish?\u201d and, \u201cWhy did I choose my major?\u201d I hear these a lot.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Describe yourself in three words. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optimistic, calm and cautious.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is the studying experience at Bilkent? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
