I took a cab from the airport with two of my now best friends who were strangers then, Shaham and Huzaifa. I still remember sticking my face to the taxi window, in awe, looking at all those skyscrapers on Eski\u015fehir Yolu and at Diyanet, I was like \u201cIs this a blue mosque?\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you like best about Bilkent and T\u00fcrkiye?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best thing about Bilkent is that it pushes you to excel and gives you a lot of opportunities to do so. T\u00fcrkiye is my second home now. It is very welcoming. It is clean, developed and has lots of opportunities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are there any similarities between T\u00fcrkiye and your home country?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The culture and values are similar, with lots of brotherhood and empathy for one other.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What will you miss most about Bilkent\/T\u00fcrkiye?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will miss my old days with my friends in Dorm 72.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite place on campus, and why?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole campus is my favorite, be it my lab, my dorm, Mayfest area, Bilka Hill or the Sports Halls.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favorite Turkish food and why?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ac\u0131l\u0131 Lahmacun because it has a lot of spices and tastes similar to Pakistani cuisine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to see myself either building a startup or working in a managerial position in a big robotics company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s one thing you learned from Turkish culture?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebrating sports, especially football.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What places have you visited in T\u00fcrkiye, and which one is your favorite?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have visited a lot of places like Antalya, \u0130zmir, Bodrum, Fethiye, Cappadocia and \u0130stanbul, but my favorite is Fethiye. It\u2019s very close to nature, and I had lots of fun there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent\/in T\u00fcrkiye?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou look Turkish!\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhy haven\u2019t you learned Turkish when you have been in T\u00fcrkiye for over six years?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Describe yourself in three words.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Positive, optimistic, jack-of-all-trades.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How is the studying experience at Bilkent?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my time at the EE department as an undergrad, I struggled a bit in my first two years but then I started enjoying what I was studying, so it got easier. One amazing thing is that the undergraduate research opportunities at Bilkent University are amazing. I did my undergrad research at UMRAM and at the Miniature Robotics Lab. That made me realize where I could apply the knowledge I learned during the lectures. My master\u2019s at the ME department has been great.
