I took a cab from the airport with two of my now best friends who were strangers then, Shaham and Huzaifa. I still remember sticking my face to the taxi window, in awe, looking at all those skyscrapers on Eski\u015fehir Yolu and at Diyanet, I was like \u201cIs this a blue mosque?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n What do you like best about Bilkent and T\u00fcrkiye? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The best thing about Bilkent is that it pushes you to excel and gives you a lot of opportunities to do so. T\u00fcrkiye is my second home now. It is very welcoming. It is clean, developed and has lots of opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Are there any similarities between T\u00fcrkiye and your home country? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The culture and values are similar, with lots of brotherhood and empathy for one other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What will you miss most about Bilkent\/T\u00fcrkiye? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I will miss my old days with my friends in Dorm 72. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s your favorite place on campus, and why? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The whole campus is my favorite, be it my lab, my dorm, Mayfest area, Bilka Hill or the Sports Halls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s your favorite Turkish food and why? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ac\u0131l\u0131 Lahmacun because it has a lot of spices and tastes similar to Pakistani cuisine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I want to see myself either building a startup or working in a managerial position in a big robotics company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s one thing you learned from Turkish culture? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Celebrating sports, especially football. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What places have you visited in T\u00fcrkiye, and which one is your favorite? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I have visited a lot of places like Antalya, \u0130zmir, Bodrum, Fethiye, Cappadocia and \u0130stanbul, but my favorite is Fethiye. It\u2019s very close to nature, and I had lots of fun there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent\/in T\u00fcrkiye? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou look Turkish!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy haven\u2019t you learned Turkish when you have been in T\u00fcrkiye for over six years?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Describe yourself in three words. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Positive, optimistic, jack-of-all-trades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n How is the studying experience at Bilkent? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n During my time at the EE department as an undergrad, I struggled a bit in my first two years but then I started enjoying what I was studying, so it got easier. One amazing thing is that the undergraduate research opportunities at Bilkent University are amazing. I did my undergrad research at UMRAM and at the Miniature Robotics Lab. That made me realize where I could apply the knowledge I learned during the lectures. My master\u2019s at the ME department has been great.
