The provocative and experimental play \u201cThe Hamletmachine\u201d by Heiner M\u00fcller will be staged as the junior project of the Department of Performing Arts students for the 2024\u201325 academic year. Directed by Do\u011fu Ya\u015far Akal (THEA\/\u201909), the production reimagines Shakespeare\u2019s Hamlet through a fragmented, postmodern lens\u2014delving into themes of identity, disillusionment, political unrest and the role of the intellectual in society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Performed at the Bilkent Chamber Theater, the play features \u0130rem Naz Alo\u011flu, Elif Ekizo\u011flu and Burak Topta\u015f, with guest performer Onur Dilek. The creative team includes assistant director and choreographer Onur Dilek, lighting designer Y\u0131lmaz Ertekin, costume designer Ya\u011fmur Demir and poster designer Ay\u00e7a Eren. Uzel Ke\u00e7eo\u011flu serves as assistant director and part of the backstage crew, along with Deniz Bekaro\u011flu, Sude \u00d6nder, Boran Yaman and Nehir Y\u0131lmaz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Performances are scheduled for April 23<\/strong> and 30<\/strong>, and May 7<\/strong> at 7 p.m.<\/strong> at Bilkent Chamber Theater.
