Students from the Faculty of Engineering have been awarded an Honorable Mention in the \u201cReaching and Accessing T\u00fcrkiye 2053 Inter-University Idea Competition,\u201d organized by the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now in its second year, the competition was launched to shape the future of T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s transportation, maritime and communication sectors. It aims to encourage young talents to develop innovative and sustainable solutions while strengthening the collaboration between academia and industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melih R\u0131za Y\u0131ld\u0131z, a third-year Computer Engineering student, received recognition for his project titled \u201cEnhancing Energy Efficiency in Highways.\u201d His proposal focuses on improving efficiency and effectiveness in transportation, enhancing the quality and competency of logistics services and reducing operational costs across the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A team of third-year students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering\u2014Atalay \u00dcst\u00fcnda\u011f, Eren Polat, Nehir Demirli, and Emre Toksoy\u2014were recognized for their project, \u201cRAY-NET Railway Logistics Network.\u201d The Ray-Net project aims to shift the logistic burden from highways to railways across T\u00fcrkiye, promoting rail transport as a primary option. The project envisions the establishment of strategically located warehouses and transfer centers that will facilitate the transportation of cargo via rail, followed by distribution to final destinations using road vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
