This month has had many firsts: first classes to consider in add\/drop week, the first official week of classes and the first edition of\u00a0Bilkent\u00a0News (filled with amazing content).\u00a0Yeah, all of that happened. I don\u2019t know about you, but I think the month has been pretty optimal\u2014we all went to parties and festivals, socialized (whether voluntarily or not), went to classes full of hope and motivation and kick-started the academic year, once again surpassing our dearest friends in the country, as\u00a0Bilkent\u00a0likes to be the first.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, the month has been fulfilling\u2014and consequently costly. As if that wasn\u2019t enough, October looks like it\u2019s going to be even more expensive. It\u2019s set to be filled with exciting activities and colder weather. My personal goal for the month is to stay healthy and go to lots of concerts. Starting off strong, the long-awaited Tamino concert is finally happening at CerModern on October 9th<\/strong>. After that, many artists will perform, from Fl\u00f6rt to Edis to Selda Ba\u011fcan. I\u2019m confident you\u2019ll find your own concert of the month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But don\u2019t think October is only about concerts\u2014there will also be incredible theatre performances. \u201cOf Mice and Men,\u201d \u201cDon Quixote\u201d and one of our very own plays, \u201cTimsah Ate\u015fi,\u201d directed by Mehmet Ergen, will be staged throughout the month. And let\u2019s not forget: October comes right before the scary, creeping midterm season, so think of it as your time to shine before descending into a spiral of worries, anxiety and sleep deprivation. Now that I think about it, I may already be suffering from all those symptoms\u2014but for entirely different reasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We all feel the societal pressure of deciding what we\u2019re going to be, right? I mean for that eerie, spooky, scary time of the year: Hallowe\u2019en. I have no idea what I\u2019ll be dressing up as, but I suppose Pinterest search sessions need to start soon, alongside more worries about saving money. Honestly, Hallowe\u2019en is one of the most expensive seasons out there\u2014with costumes, accessories and parties\u2026So, dear readers, I\u2019d advise you to get those funds ready, because this month is going to be brutal. After all, this is the last exit before midterms\u2014or at least, for me it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Still, maybe October isn\u2019t as terrifying as it seems.
