“Library Week” is an annual event in Turkey dedicated to celebrating the significance of libraries and promoting literacy and reading culture throughout the country. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the celebration, and this year’s theme is “Sustainability and Advocacy.” Running from March 25 to 31, during the Library Week, a series of engaging events will take place at the Main Campus Library, including the Surprise User Event, the Reader’s Theater, “Is It Enough to Think Big to Be Great?” webinar, a panel discussion on university libraries, and the celebration of The Reader of the Year.
As part of the celebrations for the 60th annual Library Week, Bilkent University Library, in collaboration with the University and Research Librarians’ Association (ÜNAK),
will host a panel titled “The Contribution of University Libraries to Türkiye’s Academic Outcomes and Evaluation of Our Universities on
the 100th Anniversary of our Republic.” The event, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 28, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., aims to delve into the contributions of university libraries to the academic landscape of Turkey, particularly in light of the longstanding tradition of Library Week.
