On November 21, Bilkent Tourism Club hosted the General Manager of Mövenpick Ankara, Mr. Alp Mahir Akyüz, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management (THM) 2000 alumnus, for a business seminar.
Initiated by Tourism and Hotel Management (THM) Instructor Güneş Karamullaoğlu as a part of her THM 409 Tourism Law course, Mr. Akyüz’s seminar focused on franchising and management contracts — the driving force of hospitality business development — as well as on the career opportunities that await students in franchising giants such as the Accor Group. The seminar, which lasted for nearly an hour and a half, included a lively Q&A session in which Mr. Akyüz shared various insights from his decades-long success story spanning the US and Europe. The seminar took place in the Tourism Banquet Room and attracted students from various departments.
