Bilkent Hosts 12th Annual MUNBU

The 12th annual session of MUNBU, the largest and most dynamic Model United Nations conference in Türkiye, was held on January 20–23. The opening ceremony featured keynote speeches by the Rector Prof. Kürşat Aydoğan and the Head of the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office, Mr. Tom Delrue. Welcome addresses were delivered by Dr. Can Öztaş, Head of the Digital and Corporate Communications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and MUNBU Club Advisor, Dr. Tuğba Bayar. Organized by a dedicated team of 20 students, the event brought together over 500 participants who engaged in debates across 10 committees, including DISEC, SOCHUM, UNICEF, UNODC, ILO, the Historical UNSC, NATO, the Joint Crisis Committees (JCC), the Historical Crisis Committee (HCC) and the European Parliament. Over four days, delegates tackled pressing global issues, fostering diplomacy and problemsolving skills in an intellectually stimulating environment.
