Bilkent Nature Sports Community teams represented the university with strong performances across different branches in competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation on February 13–15.
The Inter-university Ice Climbing Championships were held in Erzurum. Competing in the ice climbing branch for the first time, the team—composed of students from the Bilkent Nature Sports Community—achieved remarkable individual results.
In the women’s category, among 17 athletes from six universities, Zeynep Söyünmez (EE) placed second in Türkiye in lead climbing, while Hülya Ateş (COMD) finished third in Türkiye in speed climbing.
In the men’s category, among 20 athletes from seven universities, Barış Akkaş (ECON) secured third place in Türkiye in speed climbing.
During the same dates, the Inter-university Indoor Athletics Championships took place in Bursa. In the men’s competition, Bilkent finished fifth in Türkiye among 32 universities and 176 athletes, while in the women’s competition the team placed ninth among 19 universities and 83 athletes.
Individually, Anna Deniz Özdemir (MAN) finished third in Türkiye in the women’s triple jump event. Additionally, Ayşa Asya Tuzcuoğulları (IAED) achieved third place in Türkiye in the women’s 3000m event, adding another national podium finish to Bilkent’s achievements.
