At an event held at Bilkent this week, Pelin Akyürek met with students and shared her views on sustainable growth. As Customer Relationship Manager at IKEA, Akyürek emphasized the importance of consistency and investment in a growth system in the company’s approach to growth.
Akyürek stated that this system brings together a set of capabilities, strengthening the focus on customer experience and creating more opportunities for companies. She also highlighted the critical role of continuous investment in people—particularly in HR and leadership—in achieving sustained success.
Noting that IKEA does not seek growth in areas where it has no fundamental advantage, Akyürek explained that the company focuses on building a fundamental engine of long-term growth. In this context, she stated that a set of capabilities is developed to ensure that products, solutions, and services deliver the desired customer outcomes. She added that the system includes superior design capability along with deep knowledge of cost and price control.
