In the 2025 call of the TÜBİTAK 2236-A Co-Funded Brain Circulation Scheme 3 (CoCirculation3) Programme, 51 proposals were selected for funding, five of them at Bilkent University. Supported under the European Commission’s Horizon Europe MSCA COFUND program, CoCirculation3 supports experienced researchers conducting research at institutions in Türkiye.
The five Bilkent projects are:
• “FLINT—Finite-Blocklength Communication with Feedback: Bridging Information-Theoretic Limits and Low-Complexity Practical Codes,” to be carried out by Asst. Prof. Recep Can Yavaş, hosted by Prof. Tolga M. Duman at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• “Chip-scale Laser ARchitectures for Multilevel InTegrated Photonic Functionality (CLARITY),” to be carried out by Dr. Muhammed Abu Taher, hosted by Assoc. Prof. Onur Tokel at the Department of Physics
• “ToP-SEE—Tunable Quantum Phases in Layered Topological Materials for Sustainable Energy and Electronics,” to be carried out by Dr. Saeed Abedinpour, hosted by Prof. Bilal Tanatar at the Department of Physics
• “The Role of Mixed-Character Dislocations in Enhancing Plasticity in Magnesium: An Atomistic Investigation,” to be carried out by Dr. Masoud Rahbar Niazi, hosted by Asst. Prof. Orçun Koray Çelebi at the Department of Mechanical Engineering
• “On-Chip Rapid Assessment of Surface Charge Properties of Bacterial Single Cells Using Integrated Spoof-Plasmon Based Microwave Cytometry Set-up,” to be carried out by Dr. Zeeshan, hosted by Assoc. Prof. Selim Hanay at the Department of Mechanical Engineering
