Bilkent University Music Preparatory School percussion students, under the leadership of teacher Aydın Mecid, returned with awards from the “International Percussion Competition 2023” held in Salzburg, Austria.
Efe Sağıroğluları came first in the 14–16 age category, Batu Özcan came first in the 12–13 age category and Ege Başabak came second in the 12–13 age category.
Internationally renowned percussionists Ludwig Albert, Ivana Bilic, Antonio Ceravolo and Thomas Grubinger were part of the jury that judged the competition. Participants included young musicians from Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy as well as many other countries.
