Within the context of Ankara European Heritage Days, the Kingdom of the Netherlands opened its Embassy Residence in Ankara to guests on Saturday and Sunday September 16 and 17, 2023. The tours were hosted by the Dutch Embassy and made possible through contributions from the Bilkent University Department of Architecture. Within the tours, an elaborate narrative of the Dutch Embassy Residence was provided through the engagement and scholarly endeavors of the faculty members and graduate students of the department. The Department of Architecture prepared a leaflet specifically for the occasion with information about the building’s architect, Sedad Hakkı Eldem. In it, visitors could learn about aspects of his life, his architectural expression, the spatial features of the residence and the building’s meaningful position within the realm of Turkish architecture. The tours garnered significant interest from guests of all ages.
