Bilkent University Social Awareness Projects (TDP) volunteers visited Samankaya near Hatay’s Defne district on December 9 and 10. They met with children affected by the earthquake and engaged with them in various activities organized at Samankaya Muti–Zöhre Primary School. The volunteers also helped adults heal wounds left by the earthquake by delivering a wood painting workshop for female parents. As a result of generous donations, the primary school now has the hygiene products (bleach, liquid soap, etc.) and stationery that they need.
TDP collected donations for earthquake victims in Hatay between November 20 and December 6. They delivered approximately 80 aid packages to the Nato Tent City, where they stayed for one night to distribute them to those in need. Aid included hygiene products, winter clothes and boots to meet the winter needs of hundreds of children and adults.
