On Monday, February 5 and Tuesday, February 6, the Psychological Counseling and Development Center and the Teaching and Learning Support Center hosted the third annual Bilkent Well-Being Days. This year’s theme was “Hope and Search for Meaning.”
On Monday, February 5, Dr. Tufan Kıymaz gave a talk on the philosophy of hope. Dr. Selçuk Aslan, psychiatrist, then presented on the self-compassionate approach to hopelessness, with moderation by Irmak Tuğcu, clinical psychologist. On Tuesday, a panel took place on the social aspects of meaning and hope, moderated by Dr. Armağan Ateşkan. Clinical psychologists Göksu Gülpınar Yeşildağ, Meltem Can Atay Aytaç and Aslıhan Koyuncu shared insights on romantic relationships, friendships and managing loneliness, respectively. The event concluded with coffee and snacks, and students had the opportunity to converse with the speakers and each other on the subjects and share their opinions.
