Over the past year, since the February 6th earthquake, the Department of Architecture has reflected upon the lessons learned from the earthquake and identified the need for a better understanding of seismic hazards among architecture students and young professionals. In response to this need, faculty and graduate students have, in a collaborative effort, developed an online guide. The guide is designed to improve awareness and increase understanding of seismic risks and safety measures. It serves as a concise reference for seismic design concepts based on three primary objectives: First, it simplifies complex earthquake-resistant building strategies, making them accessible and providing references for further study. Second, it reinforces learning by connecting to relevant lectures, slides and readings. Lastly, as an online resource, the guide is adaptable, allowing continuous improvement through collective usage and collaborative feedback.
