Beyza Yazıcı, a PhD student in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, has been selected as one of 25 researchers to receive a grant for her thesis study under the Doctoral Thesis Support Program initiated by the Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU) for 2024. Yazıcı is conducting her doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Yasemin Afacan. She has received this support for her thesis, “Development of Energy-Efficient and Earthquake-Resilient Exterior Wall Performance Scenarios for Buildings in Earthquake Zones in Türkiye.” This scholarship encompasses doctoral thesis research conducted at universities in Türkiy3e on various topics, such as the Marmara Region, Marmara Sea, local governance, urban planning, smart cities, architecture, water management, environmental management, climate change, global warming, demography, migration, earthquake risk, risk management, disaster management, conservation of agricultural areas and urban life quality.
