Asst. Prof. Türker Özsarı of the Department of Mathematics received the 2023 Masatoshi Gündüz Ikeda Research Award. This prestigious award is given to mathematicians under the age of 45 working in Turkey who have made noteworthy contributions to the field, with the aim of promoting high-quality research. It was established in 2002 in memory of Prof. Masatoshi Gündüz Ikeda for his universal contributions to mathematics.
The award ceremony took place on May 24, 2024, in the Gündüz Ikeda Seminar Room at the Department of Mathematics of Middle East Technical University. Dr. Özsarı delivered a talk reviewing findings from his research over the past decade on the local and global well-posedness and control of initial-boundary value problems (IBVPs).
Dr. Özsarı’s research interests center around the analysis of partial differential equations and control theory, partially focusing on the design, analysis and controllability of IBVPs associated with spatio-temporal phenomena in applied sciences.
