Students from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts have returned with awards from the “Majaoja Percussion Competition 2024,” held in Tampere, Finland. Under the guidance of their instructor, Aydın Mecid, the percussion students achieved notable success.
In the 16-year-old category, Ege Başabak won first place, while Efe Sağıroğluları took third place in the 22-year-old category.
The competition featured talented young musicians from countries such as China, Taiwan, Poland, Croatia, Germany, the United States, Slovenia, South Korea, Estonia, Hungary, Finland and others. The jury included internationally renowned percussionists Se-Mi Hwang, Timothy Ferchen and Johan Bridger.
