The Department of Archaeology will be organizing the 3rd Pisidia Symposium:
“The Interaction of Pisidia with the ‘Outside World,’” on November 21 and 22, at the Library Art Room.
The 3rd Pisidia Symposium will explore wide-ranging phenomena such as migration, economic exchange and social mobility, investigating the complex ways in which Ancient Pisidia interacted with the outside world. As archaeologists have long recognized, interregional interaction played a crucial role in shaping the development of ancient societies. Societies were rarely isolated, and the dynamics of social inequalities, status differences and geopolitical imbalances all influenced the opportunities for and effects of these interactions. This symposium will provide a deeper understanding of how these factors shaped the history and culture of Pisidia in Antiquity.
