“Orphans” Wows Audiences at Etimesgut Kent Theater

“Orphans,” directed by Jason Hale, Chair of the Department of Performing Arts, was presented at the newly founded Etimesgut Kent Theater. The play captivated audiences with its compelling story and powerful performances. Written by Lyle Kessler and brought to the stage by Hale, the play intertwines emotion and thought in every scene, leading the audience to deep reflection.

“Orphans” premiered at the 100th Year Republic Culture Center and will continue to be staged throughout the year. The production’s sound design was created by FMPA Dean, Prof. Tolga Yayalar.

One of the lead actors, Melih Efeçınar (Bilkent THEA ’15), who had portrayed the same role in his graduation play, successfully reprised the character in this professional production. The play was translated by another Bilkent alumnus, Barkın Kenan (Bilkent THEA ’17). Senior THEA student Cem Civan was Jason Hale’s assistant in the production.
