According to the 2024 Higher Education Council (YÖK) University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report, Bilkent University Library has achieved the highest ranking in the category of print books per student.
In addition to excelling in print book collections, Bilkent University Library continues to offer a vast range of electronic resources. This year, the library has subscribed to several new databases, further enhancing its support for academic research. The newly acquired databases include:
• Annual Register: Published annually since 1758, this resource provides records of historical, social, scientific, economic and artistic events in Britain and worldwide.
• Border and Migration Studies Online: Covers over 30 major border regions, examining migration crises, refugee camps, human trafficking and related issues.
• Calvin Portal: Offers access to all texts by or about John Calvin, focusing on the early French evangelical movement.
•Engineering Case Studies Online: Includes over 300 videos and 70,000 pages of engineering-related case studies, reports and lectures.
• Gale Research Complete—Premium: A comprehensive collection covering engineering, history, politics, sociology, philosophy, economy and more.
• Harvard Business Publishing—Case Studies: Provides access to Harvard Publishing’s case studies, simulations and teaching notes in business and its related fields.
• House of Lords Parliamentary Papers 1800–1910: A digitized collection of UK parliamentary papers, including statistical data and legislative documents.
• Human Rights Studies Online: Covers human rights violations, international responses and historical contexts of global crises.
• Political Science Complete (PSC): Provides full-text access to over 520 political science journals, along with abstracts and indexed content.
• Sayısal Kitap: Turkish e-Book, audiobook and e-Journal platform: Offers Turkish e-books on literature, economy, law and philosophy from renowned publishers, along with digital journals.
Last but not least, De Gruyter has been added to the list of publishers with a Read & Publish agreement. This agreement allows Bilkent University members to publish open-access articles in De Gruyter journals without an article processing fee.
With these new additions, Bilkent University Library continues to strengthen its role as a leading academic hub, providing invaluable resources to students, faculty and researchers.
