THEA Premieres New Play: Iliad 

The timeless epic “Iliad” will be presented on stage in an adaptation by Alessandro Baricco, directed by Işıl Kasapoğlu. As the second graduation project of the Department of Performing Arts students, the production brings to life Homer’s classic tale of heroism, ambition, loss and triumph, exploring the battles of gods, kings and warriors on the battlefield and within the human soul. 

Performed at Bilkent FMPA Main Theater, the play features Cem Civan, Yağmur Demir, Tutku Lal Demirci, Mert Doğan, Yağmur Tara Gülener, Damla Köse, Lara Mayda, Can Doğa Patır, İrem Yavuz, Eylül Yolcu and Ardıl Zümrüt. The creative team includes dramaturg Zeynep Avcı, set designer Hakan Dündar, costume designer Gazal Erten and lighting designer Yılmaz Ertekin. Orkan Aydın and Berkay Şekerci will assist in direction. 

Performances are scheduled for March 20 and 27 at 8:30 p.m. and April 10, 17 and 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at ticket.bilkent.edu.tr. The play runs for 90 minutes without intermission and will be performed in Turkish with English subtitles. Latecomers will not be seated.
