Library Week in Türkiye is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the importance of libraries and promoting literacy and reading culture across the country. This year marks the 61st anniversary of the celebration, with the theme “Productive Libraries.”
As part of the celebrations, Bilkent University Library will host three events. On Tuesday, April 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Art Gallery will host a seminar titled “Productive Bilkent,” featuring faculty members from various departments: Vis. Prof. Burak Özçetin, UNAM Asst. Prof. Urartu Şeker, Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Şensoy and Asst. Prof. Burcu Ayşen Ürgen. On Wednesday, April 9, beginning at 12:30 p.m., “Group Reading Activity” will take place on the Grass Area located between the Library and the Rectorate Building.
Finally on Friday, April 11, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Art Gallery of the Main Campus Library, Library Director Dr. Ebru Kaya will share key insights on open science and open access.
