A ceremony was held to mark the opening of Bilkent Malatya Laboratory School (BiMS), a new educational institution launched by the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation in the Battalgazi district of Malatya. The school officially began the 2025–26 academic year with kindergarten and first and second grades.
Malatya Deputy Governor Talat Tabur, İnönü University Rector Prof. Nusret Akpolat, Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Recep Bentli, Bilkent University Rector Prof. Kürşat Aydoğan, Battalgazi Mayor Bayram Taşkın and Malatya Provincial Director of National Education Behçet Bakır were all in attendance at the event.
In his speech, BiMS Founding Representative Mustafa Aydos emphasized the school’s modern facilities, built on a 350-acre campus, and outlined its phased development plan. The school offers English instruction from preschool and implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Aydos also highlighted that all students received either full or partial scholarships, with the average scholarship rate reaching approximately 80 percent in the first year.
Prof. Kürşat Aydoğan highlighted that the Malatya school joins Bilkent’s family of schools in Ankara and Erzurum and aims to raise globally minded, socially responsible students.
Following the speeches, guests were invited to tour the school and its facilities.
