UNAM Asst. Prof. Fatih İnci has been awarded the 2025 Eczacıbaşı Medical Incentive Award. Recognized for his innovative work in health sciences as well as in biotechnology, biomedical engineering and nanotechnology, Dr. İnci was honored with this prestigious award for his pioneering contributions to early diagnosis and personalized approaches to medicine.
Dr. İnci’s research focuses on point-of-care diagnostic tests, biosensors, microfluidic systems, extracellular vesicles and microneedle technologies as well as their clinical applications. The low-cost, rapid and highly sensitive diagnostic platforms he has developed are used in the early detection of infectious diseases, cancer and other health conditions. These technologies have the potential to directly impact millions of lives worldwide and offer accessible solutions for global health disparities.
The Eczacıbaşı Medical Awards were established in 1959 by Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı to advance the development of medical and pharmaceutical sciences in Turkey. Aimed at encouraging scientific research and recognizing outstanding scientists, the awards continue to this day. Now in their 66th year, they include the Medical Honor Award, Medical Science Award, Medical Incentive Award, Scientific Research Support Awards and Medical Student Project Awards.
