A 1.25 MW ground-mounted solar power plant has been completed and brought into operation at the Bilkent Erzurum Schools Campus. The project uses high-efficiency bifacial (double-sided) and durable glass solar panels, providing clean and renewable energy for the campus. Since May 2025, the facility has been generating electricity to meet a significant portion of the school’s energy needs while also contributing surplus power to the local grid. The clean energy generated supports the Eastern Provinces Project, helping direct resources toward education. Following the start of educational activities at Bilkent Malatya School in September 2025, preparations have begun to establish a similar solar power system there. Through such initiatives, Bilkent University aims to promote sustainable energy use, enhance environmental awareness and improve long-term efficiency in its operations.
