Hosted by Bilkent University in collaboration with the Ara Güler Museum and Gallery Siyah Beyaz and organized by the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, the exhibition “Ara Güler—A Selection of Ankara Photographs” opened on November 18 at the İhsan and Ayser Doğramacı Science, Culture and Arts Center.

Presenting a special selection of Ara Güler’s photographs of Ankara, the exhibition captures the city’s social fabric, urban life and individual stories through the artist’s distinctive lens. Many of these photographs, drawn from the Ara Güler Archive and exhibited for the first time, reflect the unique spirit and transformation of Ankara across different decades.

As part of the exhibition, visitors can view a screening of “A Handful of Fine People” (Bir Avuç Güzel İnsan)—a documentary that shares its title with the Ara Güler Museum’s 2023 exhibition. The film focuses on the artist’s deep friendships with leading literary figures from Türkiye and around the world.

The event stands as one of Bilkent University’s gatherings that unite art, culture and education under one vision.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from November 19 to December 8, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the İhsan and Ayser Doğramacı Science, Culture and Arts Center.
