Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year to recognize the invaluable contributions of teachers and to highlight their role in shaping future generations. In this context, the Faculty of Education organized a Teachers’ Day event on November 28.
The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Alipaşa Ayas, Dean of the Faculty of Education. A panel titled “Reimagining Teacher Competencies in a Globalized Education Context” followed the opening address.
The panel featured Dr. Şerife Demircioğlu, Deputy Director at Beştepe College; Ebru Hezen, Head of School and IB Schools Leader at Nesibe Aydın Schools; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Armağan Ateşkan, Chair of the Department of Basic Education at Bilkent University. During the session, the panelists explored how teacher competencies can be redefined in response to the demands of an increasingly globalized education landscape and discussed the role of international education programs in shaping contemporary teaching practices.
The program concluded with a brief reception for the participants.
