The Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) has announced the recipients of the 2025 Young Scientist Award for Outstanding Achievement (TÜBA-GEBİP). Two faculty members from Bilkent University have been honored with the award this year.
Asst. Prof. Emre Ozan Polat (Department of Physics) and Assoc. Prof. Naci Saldı (Department of Mathematics) will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held in Ankara on December 23.
Dr. Polat has been honored in the field of natural sciences for his research in experimental solid-state physics. Dr. Saldı has been recognized in the same category for his contributions to applied mathematics.
The TÜBA-GEBİP program, launched in 2001, supports young scientists who demonstrate exceptional research capabilities, helping them to advance their studies and establish their own research groups. It also aims to inspire young researchers in
Türkiye to pursue groundbreaking scientific work.
In 2025, 28 young scientists were awarded the TÜBA-GEBİP distinction. Since its inception, the program has supported the work of 697 researchers.
