Raqball Arrives at Bilkent

Bilkent University has been selected as one of eight universities across Europe to participate in the Raqball Development Project, launched by the European University Sports Association in cooperation with the International Raqball Federation for the 2025–26 academic year.

Participating universities include University of Miskolc (Hungary), Bilkent University (Türkiye), University of Aveiro, University of Coimbra, University of Beira Interior (Portugal), Camilo José Cela University (Spain), Imperial College London (United Kingdom) and Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Romania). Selection is based on the quality of project proposals, logistical feasibility and potential impact on university campuses.

As part of the project, raqball training at Bilkent University was held on January 21, marking the official launch of the sport on campus. Combining elements of racket and team sports, raqball offers an innovative, inclusive and team-based sporting experience for students. Through this initiative, Bilkent University contributes to the promotion of diversity, accessibility and innovation in university sports in line with EUSA’s vision, while strengthening international cooperation across European campuses.
