Bilkent squash and chess teams achieved notable success in the national championships organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
The Turkish Inter-university Squash Championship was held in Bursa on March 9–11, with the participation of 10 teams and 48 athletes. The Bilkent women’s team finished the championship in first place to become the national champions, while the men’s team finished in fifth place.
Student İrem Cansu Bilgin also achieved an important individual result, finishing second in Türkiye in the women’s squash event following the individual matches.
Additionally, the Turkish Inter-university Chess Championship was held in Burdur on March 10–14. Among the 42 participating universities, the Bilkent University chess team finished 26th in the competition.
The Bilkent team was represented by Sefa Uğur on Board 1, Hüseyin Ege Olcay on Board 2, Ali Muhammet Ünlü on Board 3 and Ahmet Burak Küçükkaya on Board 4. In addition, Sefa Uğur achieved a significant individual success by finishing first on Board 1.
