Library Week in Türkiye is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the importance of libraries and promoting literacy and reading culture across the country. This year’s national theme, “Healing Libraries,” highlights the role of libraries as spaces that nurture intellectual growth, cultural connection, and social well-being. The week’s activities will take place from March 30 to April 5.
Bilkent University Library will celebrate its 40th anniversary and the 62nd Library Week with a series of events open to the Bilkent community. As part of this double celebration, the symposium “Shaping Knowledge Together” will be held on April 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Library Art Gallery.
On the same day, beginning at
12:30 p.m., a “Group Reading Activity” will take place in the relaxation area on the benches located in front of the library. A photo exhibition titled “40 Years of Bilkent University Library” will also open at 1:30 p.m. at the Library Art Gallery, presenting a visual journey through the library’s development over the past four decades.
In addition, a panel titled “40 Years of Bilkent University Library” will be held on April 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Library Art Gallery, reflecting on the library’s contributions to academic life and its future vision.
