The closing ceremony and national conference of the Teacher Education Digital Ecosystem Project, for which content was developed by the Bilkent University Faculty of Education, were held in Ankara on May 5–6, 2026. The three-year project, funded by the European Union and carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and UNICEF, aimed to improve the digital skills of around 200,000 teachers, school administrators, and education staff across Türkiye.
A Digital Teacher Competencies Framework was developed, defining key areas and indicators for teachers’ digital skills. A modular training package was also made available on national platforms, covering topics from basic digital literacy to the use of digital tools in teaching and assessment.
The project further introduced a monitoring and evaluation system to track professional development and learning processes. In addition, teacher learning laboratories were established in several provinces to support collaboration and the practical use of digital tools.
