The group exhibition Residue / İz, organized by the Department of Communication and Design (COMD), opened at CerModern Flow in Ankara on May 6, 2026, as part of Europe Day.
The exhibition will remain on view through May 17, 2026, and is presented alongside Becoming Matter, a work by conceptual artist Ecem Dilan Köse.
Curated by Andreas Treske, chair of the Department of Communication and Design, and Melih Aydınat and produced by Boran Aksoy, both COMD instructors, the exhibition brings together six installations exploring the concept of trace — “the record left behind by something that has moved, changed, or partially disappeared.” The works examine themes such as data, salt, glitch, calcification, ecology, and mediation, drawing on subjects ranging from the receding crust of Lake Tuz and long-term temperature records in Ankara to carbon footprints and the visual decomposition of natural systems.
The participating works include 39,07467° N, 33,41088° E (Salt Lake Study) by Andreas Treske; Separation by Melih Aydınat and Dersu Doğan; Calcification by İpek Naz Çelen, Yağız Baruğ, Nilsu Karataş, and Ada Sertcan; Synthetic Horizons by Ata Hami Körkaya, Ahmed Said Ağaoğlu, Yiğit Kayı, and Zeynep Sanlı; Trace by Reyyan Öykü Balmumcu, İlayda Nur Tosun, and Orhun Demirhan; and Salt.ERR by Asya Ceren Gökalp, Ayşe Kırcı, Lara Doğan, Sıla Bensu Uysal, and Elif Berra Saydam.
The exhibition is open to visitors on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on weekends between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
