UNAM Asst. Prof. Fatih İnci was awarded the 2025 İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ) Science Award.
Dr. İnci received the award in the Fundamental Sciences category, in which he was recognized for his contributions to fundamental sciences through interdisciplinary research and the development of diagnostic technologies.
Dr. İnci’s research at UNAM (Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center) focuses on point-of-care diagnostic tests, biosensors, microfluidic systems, extracellular vesicles, and microneedle technologies, as well as their clinical applications. The low-cost, rapid, and highly sensitive diagnostic platforms he has developed through UNAM’s strong infrastructure and scientific expertise, are currently being used in the early detection of infectious diseases, cancer, and other major health conditions. His work has directly impacted millions of lives by offering accessible solutions to address global health inequalities.
The İTÜ Science Awards are presented to scientists who conduct work in Türkiye and have made significant contributions to science at an international level. The awards aim to recognize academics who stand out through scientific excellence, societal impact, and university–industry collaboration and who make a meaningful difference in both research and education.
